Hi folks. Yes, I did join the blind dating group on facebook, but I'm still looking for an looking for accessible dating site. If anyone can recommend one, I'd appreciate it.
Peace out!
Have you looked at eharmony.com It was accessible as far as I know.
Lol don't be an atheist and go on eHarmony.com. Apparently according to a few fellow atheists I know, your profile may be deemed unsuitable, it's a site for mainly theists.
Even if it's not a specific theist / atheist situation, they probably have some very specific life goals they're looking for before they accept your profile as a compatible match.
Guess you could try some apps for your phone, Tindr or Match.com. I wouldn't know, being married me having such things could lead to some awkward questions for which there are no practical answers worth giving. And I'm simply not that curious, save vicariously observing others who are doing this with more or less success.
www.loveawake.com
where I met my partner.
And that site is free because they use to advertise all the time. :)
I was at a party and was talking to a guy who said eHarmony wouldn't allow him to sign up because he put down PTSD as a disability. I tried to sign up for eHarmony in order to see if they would reject me because I'm blind. I didn't even get to the point where you list if you have a disability, after taking the personality test they said in very nice terms that I'm a giant jackass and they would refuse to match me with anyone.
I can't speak to eHarmony's acceptance of certain people or lack thereof. But I can say that I have a blind friend who is currently using it...or trying to use it, and he says it's not nearly as accessible as it apparently used to be. So even if you could get accepted, it sounds like it's not very accessible as a blind person anymore.
I know a guy who met his wife on eharmony. As far as I know they're happily married I think they've been married for 2 or 3 years not sure..so it must've been when it was accessible.
Many moons ago, I belonged to a site called whispers4u for people with disabilities. I had one date on there but it didn't work out cause there was just no chemistry.
These sites are so so pricy it is crazy!! Sometimes, just sometimes, I wonder about the old fashioned matchmaker or matchmaking places..before everything became so...online. lol..
I've tried the online dating thing, but haven't had any success with that.
I know someone who tried eHarmony and under religion put atheist. They sent him a note saying his religion preferences weren't compatible with a relationship or something.
I have the impression that eHarmony probably works because it has a very specific set of relationship criteria, maybe DINKs allowed, maybe not, maybe the suburbanite yuppie with the beamer and the white picket fence.
I don't know how it works for blind people but PlentyOfFish and Match are supposed to be pretty good. Not sure how you'd use Tindr though. Not unless they have a way for you to hear voice clips. Just like sighted people need a picture, I need a voice. Again, not that I'm in that situation as a married guy but just watching the show as it were.
I know someone that was using adult friend finder.
Adult friend finder seems to be a place to waste ones money.
Much promise, no fire.
I'm sure they have some success, but generally, I think it is there to make money.
As for eHarmony's , I thought they were Christian based?
This isn't a religion argument, but because of that, how do they justify turning down disable people?
I understand disable persons are difficult to get matched, or whatever, but seems anyone should be allowed to try?
It is a Christian website, so?
It's much harder when you're deaf/blind.
The old version of OKCupid was pretty accessible. Can't speak for the new
ones.
I suck at online dating. Don't know how to sell myself in words. I'm better in
person.
OkCupid's mobile site is best imo
Adult friend finder? Sounds like a place to find a whole different sort of "relationship." emphasis on relations.
My same thought. lol
You can also find a guy who's doing the same.
"adult friends for play dates."
Laughing.
